Getting There...

Well I'm finally in Paris after a heralding 72 hours, from  Friday morning to this evening I have been all over the map, both mentally and physically. Here's the breakdown:
Friday
We were supposed to leave Pittsburgh in the afternoon, fly to Atlanta and then on to Paris overnight to arrive in France Saturday morning. However, our plane to ATL had other plans as it decided it might be fun to freak out all of the passengers by having landing gear problems. So we landed back in Pittsburgh and were not able to get another flight until 7pm Saturday evening. Some of us went back to residences in Pittsburgh, and the rest of us stayed in a hotel near the airport. We made the most of our unexpected last hours in the 'burgh(or nearby really) by getting dinner at Primanti's and then breakfast the next morning at a cute little diner called "Egg's n'at."

Breakfast

Saturday
After breakfast, we hung out at the hotel until we caught a shuttle back to the airport at 3:00pm, early enough just to be sure everything was all set for our new flight. Luckily, this was a direct flight from PIT to Charles de Gualle in Paris. All we had to do was wait and pray that we would finally make it to our first destination.

Sunday
7 hours on a plane overnight is not the most fun experience, however it was totally worth it to get to PARIS! Arriving early in the morning we were all exhausted but also pumped to be in France. We got picked up at the airport by the Study abroad company that is making this all possible and headed to our hotels where we will be staying for the next month. They are located in the cinquieme arrondissement, or the latin quarter which has historically been known for it's predominant population of university students. As it just so happens, la seine and Notre Dame are a short walking distance away. So after a bit of unpacking we visited one of the most famous historical sites in the world. and then after taking a short nap, the group gathered and had a welcome dinner that was fantastic.

  1. Wow! it became a true world adventure from the start for you - as only Carolyn would have. Is there a Le Primanti Bros in Paris?
